DRAFT 1
I saw the trash can, I had my arm out held straight, the old straw cowboy hat was about to meet its demise. You see I got the hat when I was 7 years old and already helping my dad cut down trees. I never really enjoyed but I did other things as well, so I tolerated it. As I grew older I spent less time at school, less time with friends and much more time cutting down trees in the forest. Eventually I spent all my time cutting down trees. I met my wife when I was 24, I never wanted to marry her but I wouldn’t disappoint my family like that. I didn’t know how ever that she cannot speak with out yelling and eventually I learned to ignore her.
One day I came home and my wife was yelling more than usual so I decided to pay attention this time I asked her what I had done and she replied “you never do anything you haven’t talked to me in months!” I decided that this was just normal yelling so a sighed and walked away. After this encounter I laid down and turned on the TV, I was watching Everybody Loves Raymond, I saw how there family worked how Ray and his wife where such a nice couple, it just made me mad that just because of where I was born I couldn’t have that.
The next day I drove past a car dealer, my dog howled as we passed I could have sworn the dog was looking at the black mustang, the same kind I
wanted when I was a kid. On the way home I stopped at the car dealer and took a look at the mustang the sales man asked me if I wanted to drive it I said yes almost before he could finish the question. Be for I knew it I was off in to the distance, I had no plan and nowhere to go but I was happier than ever before I asked my dog where he wanted to go. My dog and me have a weird relationship. I always treat my dog like a friend and he is but he is still a dog, anyway he is all I have and he is great. My dog, max, wanted to go to Hollywood so away we went. We drove and drove and never regretted anything I had nothing where I was before and know I would go to holly wood and be free.
When I got to holly wood I couldn’t decide what to do first, I was over whelmed, I didn’t care that I was in a stolen car. I started with Disney land I always wanted to go there but I never could. It seemed like all my dreams where coming true. I then got a hair cut and shaved for the first time. I was like a new person. I was approached on the street by a man who said that he could make me the face of his new cleaning company, I was flattered and the man seemed so enthusiastic. I said yes and we begin shooting commercials.
After 1 year in holly wood my phone rang, it was my wife, but she was not yelling she was calm she said she saw me on TV and she said she loved me, I said that I was sorry but I had a new life. Then I hung up. I walked out side with a tear in my eye dropped my cowboy hate in the trash with a shaking hand and walked back inside. I never looked back.

Great story Jeffrey! I really liked it. I think that you should expand on this idea, and maybe make a chapter 2. I would really enjoy reading it.
